I believe the answer is: Split ticket

Split ticket refers to the act of spreading our votes to different political parties if multiple positions are decided in one single election. This is the opposite of straight ticket, which basically focusing our vote to candidates from one single parties so the party could maintain as much control as possible.

Straight-ticket voting, also called straight-party voting allows voters to choose a party's entire slate of candidates with just a single ballot mark. Voters can make one punch or mark on the ballot, in order to vote for every candidate of that party for each partisan office on the ballot. The Texas ban  straight-ticket voting which takes effect with the 2020 election. That will leave just seven states allowing straight-ticket voting: Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Utah.

In a General Election we can vote for different parties for any candidate, regardless of our party affiliation and it won't affect our attachment to our current party. Only in a Partisan Primary Election can a vote for a different party change our party status.

The alternative to voting a straight ticket is to vote a split ticket. Split ticket is voting for the best candidates for each office regardless of party  Split-ticket voting refers to when a voter in an election votes for candidates from different political parties, when multiple offices are decided by a single election.  

Split ticket is opposed to straight-ticket voting, where a voter chooses candidates from the same political party for every office up for election.
