Explanation          :Pine trees have special structures called "pine cones". These produce and fertilize the seeds that are later dispersed all over the ground when these cones fall. Pine trees contain both male and female cones, and the ones that produce pollen are the male cones. This pollen needs to fall on a receptive female cone for the embryo to grow (it usually takes 2 years). Each grain of pollen contains the genetic information of the pine tree of which the cone hangs. Animals such as squirrels also help in the dispersal of seeds.
