Answer: ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is considered as the energy currency of the cell. This means that it is used as one of the most important energy source for driving metabolic functions (like muscle contraction) within the cell.

ATP stores large amount of energy within its phosphoanhydride bond (present between two phosphate). Whenever a cell requires energy, ATP undergoes hydrolysis and gets converted into ADP (adenosine diphosphate) and inorganic phosphate and the large amount of stored energy is released that is further utilized by the cell for driving its functions.

What happens when cells get off track? How does this lead in cancer?
docker41 [41]

Answer:

When cells get off track, there will be continuous increase in cell divisions and when there is increase, it will lead to increase in cells or cells multiplication occupying a place and cancerous cells developed.

Explanation:

Cancer is as a result of cell divisions and cell growth that is not checked which is as a result of breakdown in some cells processes which regulate the cell cycle and this is as a result in mutations or changes in the DNA sequence of genes code that regulate cell divisions causing increase in cell divisions such as cell cycle arrest or programmed cell death.
