The Mexican–American War was an equipped struggle between the U.S.A. and Mexico in the period between 1846 to 1848. This war followed in the furrow of the annexation of Texas in the year 1845 that the Mexican government did not recognize, who opposed the Treaties of Velasco approved by  Antonio López de Santa Anna, caudillo President/General of Mexico. Later in 1845, James K. Polk, the then U.S. President, who viewed the Texas Annexation as the primary step towards the territorial expansion of the U.S. sent a force to the disputed region and a strategic commission to Mexico. Following the attack of the Mexican army on the U.S. Army, the U.S. Congress declared the war. However, ultimately the war was won by the U.S.
