Answer:

Option E, gaining Valuable trade ports tripled trade with China by 1860.

Explanation:

The Mexican–American War was an equipped struggle between the U.S.A. and Mexico in the period between 1846 to 1848. This war followed in the furrow of the annexation of Texas in the year 1845 that the Mexican government did not recognize, who opposed the Treaties of Velasco approved by  Antonio López de Santa Anna, caudillo President/General of Mexico. Later in 1845, James K. Polk, the then U.S. President, who viewed the Texas Annexation as the primary step towards the territorial expansion of the U.S. sent a force to the disputed region and a strategic commission to Mexico. Following the attack of the Mexican army on the U.S. Army, the U.S. Congress declared the war. However, ultimately the war was won by the U.S.

Winning the Mexican War provided valuable trade ports tripled trade with china by 1860, to the United States.

Answer:

The number one cost is the amount of lives lost. At least 600,000 people died during the civil war. A human life has no price. So no other cost comes close to the amount of deaths that occurred because of the grueseom civil war. (I DONT HAVE THE ANALYZE IT PASSAGE SO I CAN'T PUT QUOTES.)

The war was costlier for the North. Even though they won, and they got what they wanted. And the south lost their slaves, the North paid way more in human lives. (Add quotes. If you don't have differences in human lives lost, just mention slaves were lost by south)
