Nationalism motivated Italy's unification since the Italian people wanted a republic nation free from Austrian rule.

Italian unification constituted the political and social movement that consolidated different states of the Italian peninsula into the single state of the Kingdom of Italy in the 19th century. It began in 1815 with the Congress of Vienna adn finished as soon as Rome turnt into the capital of the Kingdom of Italy.
