Civilization arises from a surplus of produce which enables resources to be directed to both cultural and physical activity. They also needed a form of government to direct and control the organization necessary for this advancement of society. The end products were similar, even if different in detailed application.
If i were given $1000 I would donate some to charity or something towards cancer. I would most likely spend my money on the homeless or give a homeless dog a home. I would also spend my money on a scholarship for a great college.
