A new restaurant estimates that if it has seats for 25 to 50 people, it will make $10 per seat in daily profit. If the restauran

t could seat more than 50 people, the daily profit will be decreased by $0.05 per person beyond 50. How many should the restaurant seat in order to maximize its daily profits?

Let´s
x=people beyond 50
x+50=maximun number of seats
10-0.05(x)=profit per seat.
We have the following function:
P(x)=profits
P(x)=(x+50)(10-0.05x)
P(x)=10x-0.05x²+500-2.5x
P(x)=-0.05x²+7.5x+500

1) we have to compute the first derivative:
P´(x)=-0.1x+7.5
2)we find the values of "x", when P´(x)=0:
P´(x)=0
-0.1x+7.5=0
x=-7.5/(-0.1)
x=75
3) we have to compute the second derivative to check out if 75 is a maximum value or minimum value.
P´´(x)=-0.1<0; then in x=75, we have a máximum.
4)we compute the maximum number of seats
x+50=75+50=125

The number of seats would have to be 125.
And the profit would be:$781.25
P(x)=(<span>x+50)(10-0.05x)=125(6.25)=$781.25</span>

50. it'll decrease by $10 per seat if it's any lower, and it'll decrease by $0.05 per seat if it's any higher. 50 people seated will give them the most possible daily profits.

fiasKO [112]

Answer:

  • x = 30°
  • RS = 30°, SR = TU = 120°, UR = 90°
  • ∠P = 45°
  • ∠UTS = 60°

Step-by-step explanation:

(a) If RS = x, then the sum of arcs around the circle is ...

  x + 4x +4x +3x = 360°

  12x = 360°

  x = 30°

__

(b) Based on the given ratios, the arc measures are computed from x. For example, ST = TU = 4x = 4(30°) = 120°

  • RS = 30°
  • ST = 120°
  • TU = 120°
  • UR = 90°

__

(c) Angle P is half the difference of arcs TU and RS:

  ∠P = (TU -RS)/2 = (120° -30°)/2

  ∠P = 45°

__

(d) Inscribed angle UTS is half the measure of the arc it intercepts. Arc RU has the measure (30° +90°) = 120°, so the measure of UTS is ...

  ∠UTS = 120°/2 = 60°

If angles of a triangle are 2 is to 3 is to 4 is to .find the value of each angle
Daniel [21]

Answer:

Angles of triangle are 40°,60° and 80°.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

if angles of a triangle are 2 is to 3 is to 4.

Let the common factor between the angles be 'x'.

So we can say that;

Angle 1 = 2x

Angle 2 = 3x

Angle 3 = 4x

We need to find the value of each angle.

Solution:

Now we know that;

"Sum of all angles of triangle is 180°."

framing in equation form we get;

Angle \ 1+Angle\ 2+Angle \ 3 =180

Substituting the values we get;

2x+3x+4x=180\\\\9x=180

Dividing both side by 9 we get;

\frac{9x}{9}=\frac{180}{9}\\\\x=20

Angle 1 = 2x=2\times20=40\°.

Angle 2 = 3x=3\times20=60\°

Angle 3 = 4x=4\times20=80\°

Hence Angles of triangle are 40°,60° and 80°.
