3 = f

3(6 - f) - 4 = 3f - 4

Distribute within Parenthesis

18 - 3f - 4 = 3f - 4

Combine like terms

14 - 3f = 3f - 4

Add 3f on both sides of the equation

14 = 6f - 4

Add 4 on both sides of the equation

18 = 6f

Divide by 6 on both sides of the equaiton to get your answer of

3 = f
