A drinking glass is shaped like a cylinder with a height of 12 cm and a radius of 4 cm. Maeva adds 25 spherical pieces of ice to

the glass. The pieces of ice each have a diameter of 3 cm.
How many cubic centimeters of water can Maeva add to fill the glass to the rim?

The volume of the cylinder is L*\pi r ^{2}
Which is 12 * 3.14 * 4^{2}
=602.88 cubic cm

Each piece of ice's volume is defined as 4/3*\pi *r ^{3} cubic cm (volume of a sphere). With r=3/2 (since 3 cm is the diameter)
=4/3 * 3.14 * (3/2)^{3}
=14.13 cubic cm

25 of those cumulate a total volume of 25 * 14.13 = 353.25 cm^{3}
Which means that the free space for water is 602.88-353.25=249.63 cubic cm

It takes about 20 minutes to grade a student’s paper. How long, in hours, does it take to grade papers for a class of 30 people?
insens350 [35]

Answer:

The answer is 600 minutes (10 hours)

Step-by-step explanation:

20 minutes = 1 student.

30 students x 20 = 600 minutes

600mins / 60 (because an hour has 60 mins) = 10 hours.

A store buys 7 sweaters for $42 and sells them for $182. How much profit does the store make per sweater?
defon

Answer:

$20 per sweater.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that,

A store buys 7 sweaters for $42 and sells them for $182.

We need to find how much profit the store make per sweater.

The amount the store bought the sweaters fr is calculated as follows :

$182- $42 = $140

Profit the store made per sweater is given by :

\dfrac{140}{7}=20

Hence, the store will make $20 per sweater.
