es Dickens?
"Fog on the Essex marshes, fog on the Kentish heights. Fog creeping into the cabooses of collier-brigs; fog lying out on the yards, and hovering in the rigging of great ships; fog drooping on the gunwales of barges and small boats. Fog in the eyes and throats of ancient Greenwich pensioners, wheezing by the firesides of their wards; fog in the stem and bowl of the afternoon pipe of the wrathful skipper; fog cruelly pinching the toes and fingers of his shivering little 'prentice boy on deck."

The answer is Infinitives. This is because infinitives uses "to + verb". This does not intensify or add to the mood of the excerpt. The verbs, adjectives and punctuation that make the makes the excerpt to show the mood. Additional information, infinitives are not verbs.

Answer:

The element that does not contribute to the dreary mood of this short passage from the novel Bleak House by Charles Dickens is:

Infinitives

Explanation:

The reason behind this is that in the first place we recall that the mood in a piece of text is the atmosphere the author creates using, adjectives, stylistic devices, and many more elements to achieve it. Now, in our case, repetition provides the same level of importance to the elements involved by it. So it is necessary to create a context. Punctuations lets you emphasize different moments, and elements. Adjectives allow us to provide a characteristic of an object or action. While infinitives by themselves don't provide the atmosphere because eat or dance by themselves doesn't provide a perspective or style.

Annette [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

An example of structure, from the group of answer choices is:

- Visual Formatting

This is the visual presentation and arrangement of words, lines, stanzas, paragraphs, and so on. They are part of what make up the structure of a text.

- Order of Events in a Plot

In a narration for example, the order of events is the order in which events that have taken place; from most previous to most recent, are written. This can affect the structure of a text if there is too much simultaneous use of chronology and achronology in the order of events.

- Punctuation

The arrangement of punctuation and how scantily or bulkily they are used in a text also affects the structure.

Finally, or in general, if a text is well structured, there will be free flow of understanding when it's read from beginning to end. Also, it will have a neat appearance.

Explanation:

Russian author Varlam Shalamov wrote a short story on Condensed Milk. Shalamov spent 15 years of life in Gulag, a camp where Russian forced-labor was being operated. This story narrates his terrifying experiences.

He was a political person, which shows that he was not a regular criminal but has been arrested as a thief. The treatment given to a thief was better than what he has been through. He was arrested based on suspicion as the Stalin Government found him as a threat though he was considered an enemy amongst the people. This is because of expressing his opinion that the Soviet Regime considered/felt inappropriate. Shalamov demonstrated his brilliance despite his deteriorating health at the camp. He was offered help to escape but wasn't fooled either. He lived amongst people whom he couldn't trust anymore.

While going through a harrowing treatment at the camp, the combatant realized that Shestakov was setting a trap. Shestakov was the only person with an office job with privileges. During those times, being with privileges was considered being good with the government and its people. Shalamov was afraid of Shestakov, as they were the only ones working in the field where Shestakov is trained. Shalamov was incredulous as to who had assigned Sestakov for the training and what he might have been offered?. Everything in the camp had to be paid with either another man's blood or his life.
