They didn't want to get involved because they were thinking with there heads and not there hearts. If they did fight they thought maybe the natzis would go after them next and America is too selfish, they wanted to not fight so we wouldn't die but what about helping others. The reason America didn't fight until Pearl Harbor (One of our own) got attacked is because they thought with there head and not their heart.

Do you think penalties are fair for students that cheat in class? College etc.
marysya [2.9K]

It depends on what penalties, and the severity of the student cheating.

So, the student is cheating on something minor, something unimportant, then I don't think they need to be kicked out of class just for that, but maybe get a 0 on that whole thing and that will teach them a lesson.

If the student is cheating on something important (excluding big tests), then the school should probably: A, give them a 0 on it or B, move them down to a lower level so the student feels like they don't have to cheat.

The worst thing they could do is cheat on a really big test like an exam, then they will probably end up with a big fat 0 on it all and flunk that class, or get kicked out of class.

Lots of people (adults and kids) think that penalties should be easier on the kids, but I don't agree with that. If the kid has done something wrong, then the kid needs to pay for their actions and deal with the consequences.

Explain the transition from isolationism to participation in WWII in a paragraph.
MissTica

Answer:

Explanation:

Roosevelt was not an isolationist at heart. But WWI was still fresh in the minds of the general public. Many families had lost relatives which up until WWII was the most devastating war the world had seen. Many Americans didn't want to get involved in Europe's politics and problems. A marvelous movie has been made about this called The Americanization of Emily staring a very young Julie Andrews (who does not sing a note) and a very handsome earthy James Garner. It captures beautifully how Americans felt about getting involved in other people's wars.

Roosevelt himself wanted to help Great Britain, but the problems with domestic worries in the United States forced him to hesitate. He needed something to motivate the public into getting into a war they did not want.

Japan provided him with Pearl Harbor. The American Public was moved into action. Some of the Japanese knew it, including the architect of the attack on Pearl Harbor (Admiral Yamamoto who famously said "All we have accomplished was to awaken a sleeping giant.")

So began the bloodiest war the planet has ever seen.

I'm sorry this is so long, but you cannot talk about the transition period of WWII without knowing how people felt.
