To determine the osmolarity of two types of apples in this experiment they use four sucrose solutions and twenty-four apple cylinders. They let these cylinders stand overnight in separate beakers of sucrose solutions, and repeat the procedure for the second variety. For the first variety, they record the temperature for the sucrose solution and remove the core to determine their combined mass. Then they will record the final masses and calculate percent change by using the percentage change in mass formula. After, they repeat these same steps for the second variety.
