So, suddenly I realized I needed to go back over the path we had taken to highlight the great advances we have achieved and to h

elp restore the essential things we lost along the way. I wanted to share my doubts and my culinary, amorous, and cosmic experiences. So I wrote Like Water for Chocolate, which is merely the reflection of who I am as a woman, a wife, a mother, a daughter. Speaking of balanced beings, I must mention someone who is very important in my life and to whom I owe everything that I am: my father. From him I learned about laughter, tenderness, independence, generosity, and the joy of playing and creating. The love and respect I feel for him have allowed me to establish healthy relationships with the masculine world, and it is thanks to his wonderful influence that there is a balance between the masculine and feminine in my work. You’ll have to forgive this boldness, but I think women are very fortunate that men exist! The gods are very wise and certainly knew what they were doing. They created the sun and the moon, light and darkness, the eagle, and the serpent, all for the same reason. They are the perfect complements and the mechanism we use to reach heaven.
Which line from the excerpt expresses Esquivel’s perspective best?

“ . . . I needed to go back over the path we [women] had taken to highlight the great advances we have achieved and to help restore the essential things we lost . . . .”

The line from the excerpt that expresses Esquivel’s perspective best is “I needed to go over the path we (women) had taken to highlight the great advances we have achieved and to help restore the essential things we lost.”

Mexican writer Laura Esquivel wrote the Best Seller Book “Like Water for Chocolate” to share its culinary and Cosmin experiences during his life in different roles: as a daughter, a mother, and a wife, the whole experience of being a woman. The book was published in 1990 and immediately hit the charts. It was so famous that producers decided to make a film about the book.

Justify the following statement - 'You can't always tell if a person has an intellectual disability by looking at them.'
Brums [2.3K]

Answer: Intellectual disability is identified by problems in both intellectual and adaptive functioning. One can't always tell if a person has an intellectual disability by looking at them.

Explanation:

 • Individually administered and psychometrically reliable, comprehensive, culturally relevant, and psychometrically sound IQ tests are used to assess intellectual performance.
 • While a precise full-scale IQ test result is no longer required for diagnosis, standardized testing is employed in the process.
 • A full-scale IQ score of 70 to 75 implies considerable intellectual functioning limitations.
 • However, the IQ result must be read in light of the individual's challenges with general mental ability.
 • Furthermore, subtest scores might fluctuate significantly, thus the full-scale IQ score may not adequately indicate total intellectual functioning.
 • As a result, clinical judgment is required when evaluating IQ test results.

What is the value of the expression shown below? (4 points) 3 over 6 to the power of 2 + 7 × 4 − 5 Group of answer choices 6 and
Ray Of Light [21]

Answer: 23¹/₄

23 and 1 over 4

Explanation: Use PEMDAS OR BODMAS to calculate

(3/6)² + 7 × 4 -5 Parentheses first. 3/6 is 1/2 Then Exponents

(1/2)² is ¹/₄

Then calculate Multiplication and Division

7 × 4= 28

Now we have

¹/₄ + 28 - 5 Do the Addition and Subtraction, left to right.

28 ¹/₄ - 5

23 ¹/₄

It looks as if the same question is posted twice here, and a bit confusing to sort out. I am assuming the parentheses around the fraction, and that the "power of 2" is the exponent. If the "2 + 7 × 4 -5" is all in parentheses as an exponent to calculate, that would result in a different answer.

I hope this helps.
