Philip ran out of time while taking a multiple-choice test and plans to guess on the last 444 questions. Each question has 555 p

ossible choices, one of which is correct. Let X=X=X, equals the number of answers Philip correctly guesses in the last 444 questions. Assume that the results of his guesses are independent.

Answer:

There is a 40.96% probability that he answers exactly 1 question correctly in the last 4 questions.

Step-by-step explanation:

For each question, there are only two possible outcomes. Either it is correct, or it is not. This means that we use the binomial probability distribution to solve this problem.

Binomial probability distribution

The binomial probability is the probability of exactly x successes on n repeated trials, and X can only have two outcomes.

P(X = x) = C_{n,x}.p^{x}.(1-p)^{n-x}

In which C_{n,x} is the number of different combinatios of x objects from a set of n elements, given by the following formula.

C_{n,x} = \frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!}

And p is the probability of X happening.

In this problem we have that:

There are four questions, so n = 4.

Each question has 5 options, one of which is correct. So p = \frac{1}{5} = 0.2

What is the probability that he answers exactly 1 question correctly in the last 4 questions?

This is P(X = 1)

P(X = x) = C_{n,x}.p^{x}.(1-p)^{n-x}

P(X = 1) = C_{4,1}*(0.2)^{1}*(0.8)^{3} = 0.4096

There is a 40.96% probability that he answers exactly 1 question correctly in the last 4 questions.

Solve with all work <br> −4(2 + 9) + 3 = 6 − 4( − 3)
ra1l [238]

Answer:

They do not equal eachother

Step-by-step explanation:

-4(2+9) + 3 = 6 - 4(-3)

-12 - 36 + 3 = 6 + 12

-45 = 18

Solve the triangle for x.
Damm [24]

Answer:

d) 86.2 degrees

x = 86.20°

Attached is the image used in the question;

Step-by-step explanation:

Applying the law of cosine;

Cos C = (a² + b² - c²)/2ab

Where;

Angle C = x

c = 13 ft

b = 9ft

a = 10ft

Substituting into the equation;

Cos x = (10² + 9² - 13²)/(2×10×9)

Cos x = 0.0667

x = cos⁻¹(0.0667)

x = 86.20°

Is 12/30 and 18/45 proportional, or not proportional?
34kurt

12/30 = 18/45, so first you're going to cross multiply and you'll get (30)(18) = (12)(45). Then you can see that 540 = 540 same number so they're proportional...

BTW THIS WAY IS A LOT EASIER.

12/30 = 2/5

18/45 = 2/5

So yes, in summary, they're proportional to each other. Hope this helps, have a BLESSED and wonderful day! :-)
