Morrie Swartz was the protagonist in the story, "Tuesdays with Morrie". He is a dying teacher, who contracted ALS and wanted to impart his knowledge to his friend, Albon. He was not loved by his father when he was a child, but received love and appreciation for education from his step-mom, Eva. Because he is dying, he is emotional and becomes closer with those around him.
