Answer:

San Martin resigned from the Spanish army so he could engage in the liberation of the Spanish colonies in the Americas. His military training was useful to lead the war of independence.

Explanation:

Jose de San Martin was an Argentine military and one of the liberators of Argentina, Chile and Peru. He entered the Spanish army and made his military career in the Murcia Regiment. He fought in North Africa, then against the Napoleonic domination of Spain and participated in the battles of Bailén and La Albuera. With 34 years, in 1812, after having reached the rank of lieutenant colonel, and after a stopover in London, he returned to Buenos Aires, where he placed himself at the service of the independence of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata. He was entrusted with the creation of the Horse Grenadier Regiment. Later he was entrusted with the leadership of the Army of the North, replacing General Manuel Belgrano. There he conceived his continental plan, understanding that the patriotic triumph in the Spanish-American War of independence would only be achieved with the elimination of all the realistic nuclei that were the loyal centers of power to maintain the colonial system in America.

The fact that he resigned from the Spanish army is significant because he did so in order to engage in the cause of the liberation of the colonies in South America from the control of the Spanish crown. His military training became useful later during the military campaigns of the independence wars in Argentina, Chile, and Peru. He was the most skilled military in the entire south cone.

Which of the following describes a confederate strategy for winning the Civil War?
iragen [17]

Correct answer choice is:

C. Getting the support of Britain and France

Explanation:

Confederate generals did not wish to simply continue to be defensive and await the Union to make a decision of the time and place of each battle. At the terribly starting of the war, the Confederacy tried a chain defense strategy of occupying the complete border of their region. However, this stretched their forces too thin. Confederate President Jefferson Davis eventually selected an offensive-defensive strategy, a lot of versatile munition during which troops touched around to satisfy military wants rather than making an attempt to stay each a part of the border defended in the slightest degree times.
