The theme or message about scientific advancements is that it comes with a price. Scientific advancements comes with a price because Mandy loved real food shows. "She didn't just love it, she was obsessed she was addicted." " if I cant cook real food, I might survive, but I think Ill die." This shows that Mandy can't really live without real food because she's been to the past and if it wasn't for Newtri they would have died out, but history still hasn't changed but wants to try change it.
