Sustainable food producing practices are encouraged because they enhance the fertility of the soil, protect the environment and the resources of the Earth are expanded by practicing sustainable food production. It not only protects the environment but also the social well being of a community.

By practicing sustainable measures, efforts are made to decrease the emission of the green house gases and the usage of fossil fuels is also reduced. Sustainable farms tend to conserve water, soil and other resources.
