By saying that life is a web that the man did not weave, Chief Seattle is trying to show how bigger than us -humans- life, nature and the Earth are. We are just a tiny part of it, but we are definitely not the center of the Universe, like sometimes we  believe. We can't control everything around us and sometimes the Earth speaks for itself with big natural disasters. We usually mistreat our world, our home, and have to be more conscious about it.
