Hey there!!

Let us take the price of cinnamon tea as ' x ' and spice tea as ' y '

Now, let us take it into equation

12x + 3y = 15  -------------- ( 1 )

14x + 12y = 45 --------------- ( 2 )

Let us multiply the first equation with 4

48x + 12y = 60 --------------- ( 1 )

14x + 12y = 45 --------------- ( 2 )

Now, subtract equation 2

48x + 12y = 60

-14x - 12y = -45

Now, we get,

34x = 15

x = 15 / 34

This is the cost for cinnamon tea = $ 15 / 34

Now, substitute this into one equation

Let us take this equation - 12x + 3y = 15

Now, substitute ' x '

12 ( 15 / 34 ) + 3y = 15

6 ( 15 / 17 ) + 3y = 15

90 / 17 + 3y = 15

3y = 15 - 90/17

3y = 165 / 17

y = ( 165/17 ) ( 1 / 3 )

y = $ 55/17

Cinnamon tea = $ 15/34

Spice tea = $ 55/17

Hope helps!

The label on a can of lemonade gives the volume as 12 fl oz or 355ml . Verify that these two measurements are nearly equivalent
liraira [26]

We have been given that the label on a can of lemonade gives the volume as 12 fl oz or 355 ml and we are asked to verify that these two measurements are nearly equivalent.

Since we know that 1 fluid ounce equals 29.5735 ml. Let us find volume of lemonade can in ml by multiplying 12 by 29.5735.

\text{Volume of can}=12\cdot29.5735

\text{Volume of can}=354.882

\text{Volume of can}=354.882\approx355

We can see that 354.882 is nearly equivalent to 355. Therefore, we can say that these two measurements are nearly equivalent.

What is the solution set for - 4x + 10 = 5x + 55?
Lina20 [59]

Answer:

x=−5

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Subtract 5x from both sides.

−4x+10−5x=5x+55−5x

−9x+10=55

Step 2: Subtract 10 from both sides.

−9x+10−10=55−10

−9x=45

Step 3: Divide both sides by -9.

Examine this system of equations. Which number can be multiplied by each equation so that when the two equations are
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer:

15 times the first equation and -12 times the second equation

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

\frac{3}{4}x+\frac{2}{3}y=6 ------> first equation

\frac{5}{8}x+\frac{5}{6}y=12 ------> second equation

Multiply the first equation by 15 both sides

(15)\frac{3}{4}x+(15)\frac{2}{3}y=6(15)

\frac{45}{4}x+10y=90 -----> new first equation

Multiply the second equation by -12 both sides

(-12)\frac{5}{8}x+(-12)\frac{5}{6}y=12(-12)

-\frac{60}{8}x-10y=-144 -----> new second equation

Adds the two new equations

\frac{45}{4}x+10y=90\\-\frac{60}{8}x-10y=-144\\-----------\\\frac{45}{4}x-\frac{60}{8}x=90-144

The equation of the line through (2,-5) and parallel to the line x+3y-9=0is:
djyliett [7]

Answer:

x + y = -13

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>The equation of a line is y=mx+c</u>

Line x+3y-9=0

<u>Let's rearrange.</u>

3y= -x+9

<u>Divide both sides by 3.</u>

3y/3 = -x/3 +9/3

y= -x/3 + 3

<u>The gradient is the coefficient of </u><u>x</u><u> which is -1/3.</u>

Therefore, m1 = -1/3

Where m1 is the gradient of the first line.

<u>When two lines are parallel, their gradients are equal.</u>

Therefore m1=m2

Where m2 is the gradient of the second line.

Therefore m2=-1/3

<u>Now, we need to find </u><u>c</u><u>.</u>

(2,-5)

Here, x=2, y=-5

y=mx+c

-5 = -1/3(2) + c

-5 = -2/3 + c

-5 + 2/3 = c

This can also be written as...

c = -5 +2/3

The LCM is 3.

The addition will give -13/3.

<u>Now, let's create the equation We have m2 and c.</u>

y = mx + c

y = -1/3(x) + (-13/3)

Take note of the signs, (+), and (-).

y = -x/3 - 13/3

<u>Multiply both sides by 3 to remove the denominators.</u>

<u>(3)</u>y = (3)-x/3 - (3)13/3

y = -x - 13

<u>Or</u>

x + y = -13

I hope you understand. Please give brainliest, thank, and rate 5 stars. thanks.
