I won't write an entire conversation going back and forth but I will give some pointers to get you started. Remember this is my opinion, only.
I think it's a great idea to tax junk food and soda's a little more hefty. I feel that we have such an obesity and morbid obesity epidemic and we're literally laughed at all over the globe. If people cannot afford to pay for the excess taxes on these products, they will be able to eat better. Now, on the other side of that argument, the healthier foods and produce should be left MINIMUMALLY taxed and lowered cost. Almost the opposite way of how it currently is in America.
The healthy produce and healthy foods/meats/cheeses, etc are very expensive and people would rather get more for their money thereby, they'll get junk foods and soda because it's cheaper. If we flip this around economically, by default American's would more than likely eat better.
I also feel that junk food/soda's etc should not be covered in food stamps but that's another topic.
