Answer: B. Using evidence to support your conclusions.

In this conversation, Ramona asks Emily to clarify something to her. Emily does so by reading a text and using the evidence to provide an answer.

This shows that the discussion technique Emily employs is that of using evidence to support her conclusions.

Read the following excerpt from Gary Soto’s story "Like Mexicans."
Genrish500 [490]

Explanation:

1- she doesn't seem all that eager to assimilate herself and/or family into American culture, "For her, everyone who wasn’t Mexican, black, or Asian were Okies."

2-key word "any", so this answer isn't accurate because she's not unwilling to "embrace ANY aspect of multiculturalism", (see 1).

3- no, she isn't concerned with "preserving Mexican culture" because she doesn't refer to Mexican, black, or Asian people this way, again (see 1).

4- and the monetary/career advice was the 1st ("bad advice") she gave him, I didn't see how that related at all to the 2nd ("good advice"). I saw both statements as 2 separate statements.

That's my take on all 4 possible answers. I'm apt to believe there should be a:

5- None of the above.
