The first geodesic dome was built in 1922 on the roof of Carl Zeiss Jena workshops, Germany. Walter Bauersfeld left the icosahedron subdivided according to 16 frequency. The structure consists of 3480 bars and was covered with ferrocement, inside a planetarium known as "the wonder of Jena" was developed. They quickly built more of these planetariums, opening in 1930 the first in the US in Chicago.
The Japanese woodblock prints introduced the concepts of flat planes of color, asymmetrical compositions, unconventional poses, and everyday scenes into art to the impressionists.
The appeal of landscapes to Japanese artists was that they found peace in looking at such a landscape as a cherry blossom tree or a river flowing over rocks. When Japanese artists painted landscapes they where trying to find peace within them self's and hoping they could help others achieve peace as well.
