Melinda "Mel" Sordino is the main character and narrator of Laurie Halse Anderson's 1999 novel Speak. Her last name, Sordino, is an Italian word that can be translated as "deaf." The character's ordeals were based on Anderson's own experiences; she was raped one summer prior to starting high school.

A student is writing the introduction to an opinion piece about the benefits of a plant-based diet.
borishaifa [10]

Answer: (C) Many of the medications that people use today are made from products found in nature.

                           Explanations:

(A) "The food pyramid is a graphic that shows how much of each food group to eat daily" This wouldn't be the answer, because it's talking about the food pyramid, and the food groups. The topic that the student is writing is based on the benefits of a plant-based diet.

(B) "Around the world, it is customary for people to share meals together" OK, one, this is an unimportant detail. Again, the student is writing about the benefits of a plant-based diet. This answer choice is talking about sharing meals together. For all we know, it could be a meat meal or a fruit meal, etc.

(C) "Many of the medications that people use today are made from products found in nature" This answer choice is the best answer, because it says medications are made from products in nature. Plants are nature, and this is a good benefit that talks about plants.

(D) "Vegetarians choose to avoid eating meat for health reasons or for moral reasons." This wouldn't be the answer, because vegetarians are people who basically eat vegetables and not much of other foods. Also, this isn't a benefit for a plant-based diet. Better yet, this is just a detail. This would probably be better used in an argumentative essay about vegetarians vs non vegetarians.

Inessa [10]

Answer:

A. A man of disreputable nature.

Explanation:

Just by looking at the question and answers, you can determine that the most formal statement is A. A man of disreputable nature. By the use of the word formal, people tend to think of respectful/professional words/things. The words shady character and snake in the grass are more of a casual/informal way of describing a "suspicious" person.

What are the benefits of asexual reproduction
Ainat [17]
One of the benefits of asexual reproduction is that only individual parents are demanded. When the living thing is prepared to generate offspring, it could do so accordingly without procrastinating for a sufficient comrade.
