mart [117]

Those war jobs seemingly took care of the 17 million unemployed in 1939. Most historians have therefore cited the massive spending during wartime as the event that ended the Great Depression

What econmic system did adam smith support in the wealth of nations?
Dmitrij [34]
<span>Adam Smith's writings came to represent an economic system known as laissez-faire. This was the precursor to capitalism in the sense that the economy was governed by the invisible hands of supply and demand. Naturally, the supply and demand are affected and altered by buyers and sellers. So sellers would try to maximize their profit while competing with other sellers for business. Buyers would try to buy the BEST material without spending an arm and a leg. These cycles gave rise to the development of the more complex entity of capitalism. Why did Franklin Roosevelt launch new programs during his first hundred days in office?
Liono4ka [1.6K]

The correct answer is to help people immediately and provide them with jobs.

The reasoning behind President Franklin D. Roosevelt's actions was the Great Depression. When FDR took office, the US was in the worse economic depression in US history. Nearly 25% of Americans were out of work thanks to different events such as the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and the failure of thousands of businesses. When taking office, FDR knew he needed to act quickly in order to help Americans survive these hard economic times. That is why he created several different federal agencies under his "New Deal" plan. These agencies created hundreds of thousands of jobs over the course of a decade and helped America recover from the economic depression.
