Witch of the following accurately describes washingtons winter at valley forge?
Lyrx [107]

A statement that can accurately describe Washington's winter at valley forge is:

 • harsh weather
 • lack of clothes and food
 • disease spread quickly

What happened to Washington in Valley Forge?

After the British were able to capture the Colonial capital of Philadelphia, George Washington and his men tried to retake the city. They were unable to and were instead forced from the city to make camp in another place. Washington chose Valley Forge because it was close to Philadelphia.

When the winter set in, Washington and his men suffered greatly at first. There was the harsh weather that came with the winter which was so cold that some people froze. There was also a lack of clothes and food in the camp which led to some deserting. Disease also spread across the camp and it seemed the colonial cause was lost. But things eventually changed for the better.

Options for this question include:

 • harsh weather
 • lack of clothes and food
 • more soldiers wanted to join
 • disease spread quickly
