Hot air has a much lower density than cold air and for this reason, the large plains would be ideal for an industrial city if the goal is to have fewer air pollution incidents related to temperature inversions. This is because if the large plains are lower, soon the hot air will rise while the cold air will tend to go down.

In short, within the great plains the hot air being less dense rises, in contrast, the cold air (more dense) descends, forming the convection currents.

I think that the plains, because the temp. is the same all around, cuz its flat... the mountains get cold at the top
