Answer:

SEMI-CONSERVATIVE.

DNA replication is called semi-conservative because the newly replicated DNA consist of a parental strand (from the original DNA) and a newly synthesized daughter strand.

Explanation:

The is so because during DNA replication;

There is the unzipping of the double helix structure of the DNA by an enzyme HELICASE thereby creating replication fork which is Y shaped.

The separated strands each wilk act as templates for making new strands of DNA.

One of the strand is called leading strand oriented in the 3' to 5' direction that is towards the replication fork and the other lagging strand in the 5' to 3' direction.

RNA primase acts on the leading strand acting as the starting point for the synthesis of the new DNA.

DNA polymerase binds to the leading strand and add new complementary necleotides in the 5' to 3' direction.

Okazaki fragments are added to the lagging strand in the 5' to 3' direction. Enzyme ligase seals the DNA strands after proofreading and completes the process of replication.

In conclusion, new DNA strands with half of the parent strand and a half of a newly produced DNA and it's is therefore called Semi- Conservative.

Answer:

Semi-conservative

Explanation:

The semi-conservative DNA replication model was initially hypothesized by Watson and Crick, but was later proven by the Meselson-Stahl experiment, in which DNA samples were tagged, and after replication, it was observed that the two resulting DNA both had one strand each from the parent DNA strand.

This dispelled the conservative model which proposed that the two strands of the daughter DNA are newly synthesized, while the parent DNA only served as a template.

The correct answer is semi-conservative.

siniylev [52]
The correct answer to the question above is cytoskeleton. Microtubules, microfilaments, and intermediate filaments make up the cytoskeleton, which lies beneath the plasma membrane and provides support, movement, and shape for the cell. These structures definitely form cytoskeleton for the support and structure.

What if a mutation caused a change in the code so the message read GAG instead of GAC?
How would this affect the protein produc
Anarel [89]

Answer: There will be no effect on the protein produced

Explanation:

According to the genetic code, the triplet codon GAG code for the amino acid, glutamate, while GAC code for aspartate.

Since GAG and GAC code for amino acids with similar properties (aspartate and glutamate are both acidic amino acids due to the extra carboxyl group present in their side chain), the change in nucleotide is still similar to the original, so will result in a different amino acid sequence, but will not alter the function of the protein at all. Thus, this kind of mutation is called silent mutation.

To find the main idea of a piece of writing, you can employ the techniques in which you?
Alika [10]

Answer:

The main idea in a given piece of reading is implied by the introductory paragraph, and, or several meaning sentences that are in subsequent paragraphs.

Explanation:

The main ideas in the a given piece of work, specifically reading is contained in the first paragraph of the piece of writing. The first paragraph can be used to imply the main ideas in a topic without necessarily revealing it. The first concepts, terms, illusion and characters mentioned, certainly we can deduce the main idea.

Several sentences in paragraphs that carry almost similar, related and interrelated facts, in most cases are very essential in explaining the main idea.  By looking at them in various paragraphs, one is able to find the sole message being communicated.
