The St. Micheal church at Hildesheim, is an early-Romanesque church which began to build under Bishop Bernward and after his death by Bishop Godehard. The entire construction work finished in 1031. The main entrance to the Church is at the south side which disrupts the old traditional basilica plan of the Basilica of Ulpia.
