Although, #1 is kind of redundant it's not a run-on sentence. #2 complete sentence. #3 Two sentences that could have been separated by other means instead of a comma. #4 Correct punctuation. When you have a subordinate clause, you use a comma.

It was said that Miss Stephanie tells the kids that Bob Ewell stropped Atticus and decided to spit in his face and told him that he, Bob, would get revenge back on Atticus in the near future.
This is true. A thesis statement is you opinion. This means that not everyone will agree with your opinion. For example:
Smoking should be illegal because it is unhealthy, costly, and an annoyance.
Though you supported your opinion, someone who enjoys smoking may say that it is not costly or annoying. This is why a thesis statement is controversial.
