Synthetic compounds found in an organism but not normally produced or expected to be present in that organism are called _____.
nlexa [21]

The correct answer is D. Xenobiotics

Explanation:

In biology, the word "xenobiotics" refers to any substance or chemical compound that is considered as not natural or synthetic is an organism, this means the substance or compound is not produced by the organism and therefore it is not expected to be found on it. In the seam way, a substance that is natural to the organism but that is found in abnormal concentration might be considered as a xenobiotics. This concept differs from pesticides because these are substances used to control pests and from bio remediators because these are used to deal with contamination. Therefore, the word that describes synthetic compounds that are not produced or expected to be present in an organism is xenobiotics.

Which is an abiotic factor that affects a freshwater ecosystem apex?
mina [271]
My guess is that fat-soluble toxins that may occur in freshwater ecosystems would most affect apex species in these ecosystems. This is because fat-soluble toxins are stored in the fat reserves of animals, and then bioaccumulate up the food chain. So in this case, most of the toxin is not secreted, but stored within the food chain, and bioaccumulates, with the concentration becoming higher the further up the food chain.

Dmitrij [34]
Hypertension is most commonly known as high blood pressure, which is condition where the blood in a persons arteries are abnormally high. high blood pressure/hypertension can be lowered by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. this means that you must exercise regularly and eat well, which tells us that option B and D are incorrect. hypertension is also known to cause heart attacks if it is left untreated for long periods of time and can occur if you are being treated for heart disease, but heart disease is usually never the cause of hypertension. since we have determined that option C is also incorrect,, we a left with option A as the correct answer to this question. having hypertension can be genetic, so if you have two parents who are genetically prone to this condition you are more likely to have it.

How does the structure of the muscle cell help it carry out its function? <br>plz answer
Korvikt [17]

Answer:

Different types of cells shapes effect the function of the cells. Muscle cells are shaped like they are because they have to perform a certain function to meet the critia of what the body is telling it what to do.

Explanation:

Skeletal muscle cells are located in a bundle of linear fibers. These are thin chains of the proteins actin and myosin that cause muscle contraction. The elongated shape of muscle cells allows contractile proteins to place themselves in an overlapping pattern that allows muscle flexion.
