Given:
Chicken
Rabbit
72 heads
200 feet

Chicken - 1 head , 2 feet
Rabbit - 1 head , 4 feet

C + R = 72
2C + 4R = 200

C = 72 - R
2(72-R) + 4R = 200
144 - 2R + 4R = 200
2R = 200 - 144
2R = 56
R = 56/2
R = 28

C = 72 - 28
C = 44

2C + 4R = 200
2(44) + 4(28) = 200
88 + 112 = 200
200 = 200

There are 44 CHICKENS and 28 RABBITS.

A bookstores sells frequent buyer Discount cards For $12 each. The cost of each book with the discount card is $7. Cost of a boo
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

6 book purchases.

Step-by-step explanation:

As the bookstore sells frequent buyers discount cards at $ 12, which make the books that usually cost $ 9 cost $ 7, to determine from how many books a card-holder and a common buyer will spend the same amount of money is necessary perform the following calculation:

9 - 7 = 2

12/2 = 6

Therefore, after purchasing 6 books, both categories of buyers will have spent the same amount of money. This is verified with the following calculation:

Card holder = 12 + 7 x 6 = 54

Non-card holder = 9 x 6 = 54

last month, a bookstore ran the following at and sold 85 calculators, generating $4,083 in sales. How many of each type of calcu
Scilla [17]

Answer:

31 scientific calculators

54 graphing calculators

Step-by-step explanation:

X = number of $15 calculators

Y = number of $67 calculators

X+Y = 85   then X = 85-Y

15X+67Y = 4083

substitute for X

15(85-Y)+67Y = 4083

1275 - 15Y + 67Y = 4083

reduce

52Y = 2808

Y = 54

X = 31

3. What are the coordinates of the center and the length of the radius of the circle whose equation is(x + 1)^2 + (y - 5)^2 = 16
hram777 [196]

Given data:

The given equationn of the circle is (x + 1)^2 + (y - 5)^2 = 16.

The standard equation of the circle is,

(x-a)^2+(y-b)^2=r^2

The given equation can eb written as,

(x-(-1))^2+(y-5)^2=4^2

Compare the above equation with standard equation.

\begin{gathered} a=-1 \\ b=5 \\ c=4 \end{gathered}

Thus, the coordinate of centre is (-1, 5) and radius is 4.

What is five-sixths divided by three-fourths?
siniylev [52]
5/6 divided by 3/4
First you do KCF (Keep. Change. Flip.)
Keeping the 5/6.
Changing the 3/4 to 4/3
And the new operation is multiplication as it’s the inverse of division.
So this is how it looks like:
5/6 • 4/3
Now, you can’t cross simplify since none of them can’t be reduced.
So the product of 5/6 and 4/3 is 20/18. And the mixed number is 1 2/8.
Simplifying the mixed number is 1 1/4.
I hope this helped.
