History

The government did little to nothing to disturb or regulate the rising power of the railroads and other big business monopolies in the south, which is the corner stone of lassiez-faire ideology. The unchecked growth of the industries' power created resentment toward this ideology as many people thought it trampled over the common citizen. Resulting in the creation of The Granger Movement, small groups of farmers mainly in the South and West, demanding the end of lassiez-faire policies and the intervention and regulation of the government in business affairs. The pressure created by these movements resulted in the increased regulation of railroads and firms controlling the storage and distribution of corn and wheat.

Enhanced communication has allowed for the growth of "networks" of organizations. What are the pros and cons of these new actors
nasty-shy [4]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

You did not include the lesson notes or the link to them, to know what you are talking about. Neither the articles of the authors Arquilla and Weimann.

However, trying to help, we did some research and can comment on the following.

It is true that enhanced communication has allowed for the growth of "networks" of organizations. The pro of these new networks is that it allows people who have similar thoughts or opinions, to have a formal channel of communication to express their points of views and fight for their causes.

The con of these new actors on the international stage is that not all have the best intentions in mind. Some of them can use the new networks for negative purposes as in the case of terrorist groups. For instance, John Arquilla affirms that most of these groups are formed to protest against the policies of governments or are anti-status quo.

Some of these groups promote an environmental agenda, civil rights, support any particular ideology or country in disgrace, or simply critique the performance of a public official or government.

what serious problem did the pilgrims face when they landed on november 11? how did the solve this problem?
prisoha [69]

Question : What serious problem did the pilgrims face when they landed on November 11 and how did they solve this problem ?

My Answer :

What was the problem ?

They had drifted off course and had landed north of the original place where they were suppose to settle with also winter fast approaching; by staying where they were.

They also faced : 1. Disease

2. Indian attack

3. Malnutrition

4. Starvation

5. Unfamilliar weather

Most of these problems they couldn't solve, like disease, attack, starvation, and weather. The early colonists weren't very willing to work. They thought America was a continuous land of bounty from which they could reap the harvest. Well...it wasn't. A lot of people starved to death. On top of that, they were constantly worried about Indian attack...and they had the right to be. None of the Indians wanted to give up their land and share their resources with a strange invader

Why might Jefferson have left the<br> national bank alone?
Sergio [31]
A national bank unfairly favored wealthy businessmen in urban areas over farmers in the country.

Thomas Jefferson believed this national bank was unconstitutional. In contrast to Hamilton, Jefferson believed that states should charter their own banks and that a national bank unfairly favored wealthy businessmen in urban areas over farmers in the country.
