Hello there!!

Looking at the table, I can automatically rule out B) and D) because Fraser is -5 degrees and Harbin is -10. Harbin is obviously colder than Fraser in January, so that is incorrect. As for D) you can tell that Barrow is -16 degrees in January. Do the other cities even come close? Now C) Grand Fork is not the coldest city in January, for Barrow is -16.

In conclusion, your answer would be A) because:

Barrow is the coldest city in January.

Determine the slope of the linear function.

f(8)=-1 and f(2)=3
viktelen [127]
We can calculate the slope by using the slope formula!

\frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}

We now just plug in our values which are:

\frac{8+1}{3-2}=9

PLZ HELP ONLY ONE QUESTION!!!!!! 33 POINTS
Elden [556K]
The volume would be V = (side of base)^2 * (height). The height would be 3. To see this, make yourself a model if need be. Assuming that the dimensions of the "square piece of cardboard" are x by x, then the length (or the width) of a side of the square bottom would be x-3-3, or x - 6.

So: V = (x-6)^2*3 = (area of base)*(depth of box)
                                     = 3(x-6)^2 (answer)

Complete the following table for f(a) = -8(5/2)*
marusya05 [52]

Replace x in the equation with the x values in the table and solve for y.

-8(5/2)^-3 = -64/125

-8(5/2)^-1 = -16/5

-8(5/2)^0 = -8

-8(5/2)^2 = -40
