2. The two main branches of geography are:
a. Human geography: this deals with the natural phenomenon that are present in the universe.
b. Physical geography: this deals with the effects of human interactions with his environments.
3. The sub-fields of physical geography include the following
a. Geomorphology: study of earth structures and shapes.
b. Hydrology: study of all forms of water.
c. Climatology: study of climate.
d. Biogeography: study of plants and animals life and process
d. Pe.dology: the study of the soil.
The sub fields of human geography include: cultural, economical, historical and population geography.
4. The theory of landscape geography is important because it helps to identify, recognize and analyze the factors that lead to changes in the natural landscape. The results obtained from the study of the impacts on landscape can then be used to remedy the situation.
5. Environmental determinism refers to the study of how physical environments affect the culture and social life of the people in a society.
An argument that can be made against environmental determinism is that its claims are based on mere beliefs which can not really be proven, thus it more of a pseudoscience view.
