Read the excerpt from Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson and answer the question. I asked them t

o let me go out and pick up some sticks, that I might get alone, and pour out my heart unto the Lord. Then also I took my Bible to read, but I found no comfort here neither, which many times I was wont to find. So easy a thing it is with God to dry up the streams of Scripture comfort from us. Yet I can say, that in all my sorrows and afflictions, God did not leave me to have my impatience work towards Himself, as if His ways were unrighteous. But I knew that He laid upon me less than I deserved. What common theme does this excerpt share with the excerpt from "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God"? Click here to read an excerpt from the sermon. A) the significance of praying to God B) the serendipity of God's actions C) the importance of reading the Scripture D) the impatience of ordinary people. IT IS NOT D

It's B because the narrator says that they although not getting any inspiration from the Bible God still blesses them "But I knew that He laid upon me less than I deserved." and in the text Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God it is stated that although humanity has wicked ways and may fall -- burn in hell more precisely -- because of their wicked ways, the only thing that prevents this from happening according to the sermon is God's pleasure, which is held by no force, it is given as God's own choice.

What mode of persuasion does Antony use when he says, "Then make a ring around the corpse of Caesar, and let me show you him tha
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer:

a. Ethos because he’s uniting with his audience to surround Caesar’s body.

Explanation:

We can say that Antony made full use of ethos, which reinforces the sense of ethics in a speech. This is because in calling the people to gather around the body of Caesar, he joins the people and asks them to see for themselves, without intermediaries, the man they are causing death, but who made a beneficial will and advantageous.

What conflict does Wylie introduce with the lines “down to the Puritan marrow of my bones/there’s something in this richness tha
scoundrel [369]
This is internal conflict.

She's saying the Puritan part of her ancestry would hate the richness of the setting. Puritans were known for austerity and simplicity.

In most of the poem, she is describing a rich world where "peaches grow wild," "when April pours the colors of a shell Upon the hills." Toward the end of the poem, she shifts and describes this internal conflict. Here, she is saying that a part of her would hate the richness of this world.
