(07.07 LC)A bus pass costs $9 per week. Which of the following equations shows the total cost in dollars, t, of the bus pass for

a certain number of weeks, w? t = 9 + w t = 9w w = 9 + t w = 9t
My sister needs help on this, and I don't remember how to solve it.

Hello,

The correct answer is B) t = 9w

Hope this helps!!!! (:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was reading the comments from the other person who answered and I'm guessing both of you don't know what Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) means.... I'm going to show you an example.......

For example:

2, 2, 4, 4

2 + 2 + 4 + 4 = 12 ÷ 4 = 3

12 ÷ 4 (because there are exactly 4 numbers)

Mean: 3

Mean Definition: The mean is the average of the numbers. To calculate it: add up all the numbers, then divide by how many numbers there are.

Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD):

2, 2, 4, 4          Mean: 3

(2 - 3) + (2 - 3) + (4 - 3) + (4 - 3) = 4 ÷ 4 = 1

Mean Absolute Deviation: 1

4 ( because I subtracted all the numbers and then added it all together) ÷ 4 (because there are exactly 4 number)

I hope your getting it because if you do it on paper it's easier.

Hope these helps!!!! Happy Holidays!!!! (:

Choose whether it's always, sometimes, never
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer: An integer added to an integer is an integer, this statement is always true. A polynomial subtracted from a polynomial is a polynomial, this statement is always true. A polynomial divided by a polynomial is a polynomial, this statement is sometimes true. A polynomial multiplied by a polynomial is a polynomial, this statement is always true.

Explanation:

1)

The closure property of integer states that the addition, subtraction and multiplication is integers is always an integer.

If a\in Z\text{ and }b\in Z, then a+b\in Z.

Therefore, an integer added to an integer is an integer, this statement is always true.

2)

A polynomial is in the form of,

p(x)=a_nx^n+a_{n-1}x^{x-1}+...+a_1x+a_0

Where a_n,a_{n-1},...,a_1,a_0 are constant coefficient.

When we subtract the two polynomial then the resultant is also a polynomial form.

Therefore, a polynomial subtracted from a polynomial is a polynomial, this statement is always true.

3)

If a polynomial divided by a polynomial  then it may or may not be a polynomial.

If the degree of numerator polynomial is higher than the degree of denominator polynomial then it may be a polynomial.

For example:

f(x)=x^2-2x+5x-10 \text{ and } g(x)=x-2

Then \frac{f(x)}{g(x)}=x^2+5, which a polynomial.

If the degree of numerator polynomial is less than the degree of denominator polynomial then it is a rational function.

For example:

f(x)=x^2-2x+5x-10 \text{ and } g(x)=x-2

Then \frac{g(x)}{f(x)}=\frac{1}{x^2+5}, which a not a polynomial.

Therefore, a polynomial divided by a polynomial is a polynomial, this statement is sometimes true.

4)

As we know a polynomial is in the form of,

p(x)=a_nx^n+a_{n-1}x^{x-1}+...+a_1x+a_0

Where a_n,a_{n-1},...,a_1,a_0 are constant coefficient.

When we multiply the two polynomial, the degree of the resultand function is addition of degree of both polyminals and the resultant is also a polynomial form.

Therefore, a polynomial subtracted from a polynomial is a polynomial, this statement is always true.

6 feet<br> 12 feet<br> What is the area of the given composite shape?
Reika [66]

Answer:

choice A; 128.52 square feet

Step-by-step explanation:

This shape is made up of a semi-circle and a rectangle. The area of the rectangle will be 12*6 = 72 sq ft.

The formula for area of a circle is \pi*r^{2}. also r=radius. We are given the diameter, 12 feet. The radius is diameter/2, so the radius of the circle will be 6 feet.

Since pi is infinite we round it to 3.14.

Plug in the values and our expression will be (3.14*6^{2})/2 because it is a semi-circle. Simplify that to (3.14*36)/2 = 113.04/2 = 56.52 sq ft.

Remember to add the area of the rectangle and semi-circle. 72 + 56.52 = 128.52 sq ft.
