Why is english class an essential part of education
cluponka [151]

Answer:

Hey there!

English classes are an essential part of education, as they enhance your communication, and social skills. The techniques and skills that you learn in English class, can make  for better and more powerful writing, fluent reading, and correct grammar when speaking, and learning these skills can make you a better, and more persuasive person. English classes also (at least in my experience) teach you how to get ideas across to others. You can have an idea, but without the proper way to address it, it just remains a thought, and not a plan in action. Thus, this is why I believe that english classes are essential to education.

Let me know if this helps :)

yawa3891 [41]

The right answer is alternative four.

In the excerpt from "A Relay Race to Remember," the expression "he was gliding through the water like a dolphin" injects surprise into the story by making a comparison between that conveys how well Sean performs in he race. The phrase describes that Sean swims as well as a dolphin, meaning that he executes brilliantly at the race.

The rest of the options are not correct because the remark does not develop Malik's character or depicts how he swims, and it is not the end of the story.

Which statement best describes the effect of
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

The use of parallelism emphasizes the speaker's  Irish identity.

Explanation:

Both statements illustrate the author's affiliation with Kiltartan, a parish in County Galway, Ireland.  Using a little outside context, we'll know that this poem was written shortly after the Easter Uprising, an Irish rebellion against British tyranny that largely set the stage for The Troubles.  The poems of Yeats contain a great deal of ironic patriotism, which has heavily influenced the works of many contemporary Irish writers such as Anne Casey or Emer Martin.
