Civil disobedience-- Martin Luther King Jr. used civil disobedience learned from men like Gandhi, Thoreau, and the teachings of Jesus Christ. 

The method of civil disobedience uses boycotting, sit-ins, and non-violent protest. Martin Luther King Jr. organized the Montgomery Bus Boycott which was a boycott of the bus system started with Rosa Parks disobedience on segregated buses. It effectively attacked large economic systems which created change due to loss of income.

Nonviolent civil disobedience best describes Dr Martin Luther king's strategy of protesting.

Dr. Martin Luther King performed non-violent civil disobedience in a way of protest to present the concerns of the population to the government.

He was a pacifist  and activist spokesperson who stood for everyone's right to elect and vote for their leaders of state. He led a lot of non-violent marches and protests.

He described them as essentiallu malleable.

Explanation:

He states "I saw that they were very friendly to us", meaning they had goodwill towards Columbus and his man. Then mentioned " they to be a very poor people...Weapons they have none." So the island he came upon was made of simple living people good natured people. Which lead him to the conclusion that they ,"would be good servants... and very readily become Christians." So he saw them as essentially malleable for his goal to conquer lands and gain wealth for his King and Queen.

This quote comes from the now famous Four Freedoms speech, delivered by Roosevelt as the State of the Union address on January 6, 1941. The international context was very negative. Hitler and his Axis allies were winning in Europe. Britain was greatly menaced and the Japanese were gearing up for all-out war in the Pacific and in Asia.

Roosevelt, aware that scientific progress had eliminated the physical advantage of the USA being separated from Europe and Asia by such vast expanses of water had been arming and funding the British for years and had also increased military spending and the Navy in order to keep Japan at bay.

He knew that once Hitler had conquered Europe and Japan had conquered the East, all the populations and resources of these vast reasons would be used to directly attack the USA, which would eventually find itself in numeric inferiority so in order to prevent such a dark future he chose to send weapons, supplies and money to the British.
