The height of a yarrow plant (Achillea millefolium) depends on its genotype and the altitude at which it is raised. Suppose that

one of the genotypes produces plants that are tall at low and high elevations and short at medium elevations. In this case we might conclude that the genotype codes for the __________ for the yarrow plant.
Select one:

a. variation range of height

b. norm of reaction for height

Answer:

The right answer to this question is B. Norm of reaction for height.

Explanation:

Norm of reaction is a type of study that focus on a single genotype, and how it'll influence the phenotype of the species in different environments. In this case, we're studying Achillea Millefolium, that according to the question, depends on one specific genotype to be or not to be tall. Through this information given by the question, we can be sure that this is a norm of reaction, because after that, to check if the plant is tall of not, we test it on different environments, confirming the norm of reaction again.

These proteins are called enzymes. They are very shape specific and therefore will usually lower the activation energy for a specific reaction.

Carbon chains are principal features of both carbohydrates and lipids.what is the primary difference between these two types of
solong [7]
While both carbohydrates and lipids are made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen there are several differences:

1. Carbohydrates are chains of 2 or more carbon atoms.  These can be very lengthy (like long cellulose chains of glucose units). They have many polar OH groups (e.g. glucose - C6H6O6). Most carbohydrates are hydrophilic and are soluble in water because of their polar OH groups. They are not necessarily sugars nor are they necessarily sweet. They are also important components of DNA, RNA and ATP.

2. Lipids are more diverse in their chemistry. They generally have a polar region at one end (this end attracts water) and a large non polar hydrocarbon region that repels water. Lipids don't dissolve in water and instead clump together with their hydrocarbon regions on the interior. Lipids include oils, fatty acids, waxes, steroids and hormones.
