Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that could develop to perform a variety of tasks. One type of stem cell is the embrionic stem cell. There are also adult stem cells. To use embrionic stem cell you need to have fertilized embrios. These can be donated to research. The use of the embrionic stem cells is controversial for this reason.

If a cell with 36 chromosomes undergoes mitosis, how many cells will be produced and how many chromosomes
ELEN [110]

Answer:

B. There will be two cells each with 36 chromosomes.

Explanation:

The products of mitosis are called diploid cells, and they each have the complete set of chromosomes. These cells are usually important for activities such as growth, repair etc. They make up our normal body (somatic) cells. Therefore, the answer is 36, only 36 matches the description of genetically identical cells

Which of the following are contributing factors to the extinction of species?
meriva

Answer:

Deforestation

Climate Change

Invasive Species

Explanation:

Seventy percent of the Earth's plant and animals dwell in forests, and deforestation affects them directly. Once their habitat is lost, they are on their way to extinction.

Climate change also causes extinctions not only as a result of species intolerance to high temperature, but more commonly via a variety of related factors that alter a species’ interactions with other species.

Invasive species invade foreign territory. They use resources that the other species depend on. Then naturally one of the species will die off.

what role will nature selection most likely have in the frequency of the alleles responsible for the presence of tissue pockets
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

Through natural selection, those organisms which have better adaptations to survive in an environment are able to live and pass on their alleles to their offsprings. Hence, any trait which is beneficial to an organism will be favoured by natural selection.

As tissue pockets is a trait which is required by the shrimps, hence with the passage of time shrimp population having tissue pockets will increase and will be favoured by nature.
