F(x)=-2x+10 what value of x will f(x)=0
trapecia [35]

For x=5 the function will be zero

Further explanation:

In order to find the value on which a particular function will be zero, the function is put equal to zero and the equation is solved for x.

Given function is:

f(x)=-2x+10\\

Putting the function equal to zero

-2x+10=0\\Subtracting\ 10\ from\ both\ sides\\-2x+10-10=0-10\\-2x=-10\\Dividing both sides by -2\\\frac{-2x}{-2}=\frac{-10}{-2}\\x=5

For x=5 the function will be zero i.e.

f(x)=0

We can verify:

f(5) = -2(5)+10\\=-10+10\\=0

Find the surface area of a pentagon
fenix001 [56]
So hmm notice the picture below

what you really have is, 2 pentagons and 5 rectangles, stacked up to each other at the edges

so.. .the surface area of the figure, will be, the area of those 5 rectangles added together plus the area of those 2 pentagons

now... notice, each rectangle is a 12x8
now.. to get the pentagons area, keep in mind, the area of a regular polygon is  1/2 * apothem * perimeter

you have the apothem, is given, one side is 12 units long, the perimeter is all sides added together, thus 12+12+12+12+12

so.. get the area of each of the rectangles and those pentagons, sum them up, and that's the surface area of the figure
