Activities like cyber crimes, nudity, drug abuse are rampant on the media and juveniles who are constant users of the media can find these activities appealing to them due to their naive nature. Journalists and social media influencers are not also helping matters as they celebrate these criminals parading themselves as celebrities on their platforms. There is no equivocation to the fact that violence in the media contribute a great deal to the juvenile crimes in our societies.
To drastically reduce violence in the media, government should make strict laws that guide the use of the media. Security agencies should closely monitor the activities taking place on the media and any personality who perpetuates any unlawful act through the social media should be made to face the wrath of the law. Juveniles should also be educated on the correct use of the media and should be made to know that not everything seen on the media is worthy of emulation. Guardians should also be close to their wards and show them the model of a responsible lifestyle. This will prevent these young ones from being unreasonably controlled by what they see on the media.
