What is true about the ocean life zones?

Biology

Answer: Because of it's exposure to sunlight, photosynthetic organisms are the bottom of the food chain in the lighted zone

Explanation:

In the sunlit zone there is enough sunlight for photosynthesis to take place, photosynthetic organisms like Plankton produce food. The use the light energy from sunlight with carbondioxide and water to produce food and release oxygen. The largest oxygen percentage of the Earth is produced from the ocean(about 90%) which is produced by Plankton. Plankton serve as the primary producers in this zone, many animals also live in this zone because of food availability.

Please help me in my homework (keep it simple,i couldnt find Science ;-; I am sorry) What is environment? What are three main as
meriva

Answer: It is then the space in which the life of living beings and the interaction between them and other things takes place. It is made up of living organisms, abiotic elements and artificial elements. It includes physical, chemical and biological components of the organisms and elements that form it. It is important because it is the place of habitat of humanity, it provides natural elements such as water and food, it provides fuels and raw materials that serve to manufacture artificial things and it contributes to the sustainability of life on the planet.

Explanation:

The environment is a system made up of living organisms (such as animal and plants), abiotic elements (lifeless, such as stones or water) and artificial elements (created by man, such as buildings) that are related to each other and can be modified by human action. <u>It is then the space in which the life of living beings and the interaction between them takes place</u>.

It includes physical, chemical and biological components of the organisms and elements that form it. That is, how is its composition and its function in the environment.

The importance of the environment lies in:

  • It is the place of habitat of humanity, so it influences the life of human beings and future generations. It is the space where life develops at this time with all living beings and their natural components.
  • It provides natural elements such as water and food since it offers all its natural resources needed by the human being.
  • It provides fuels and raw materials that serve to manufacture the artificial things we use daily, to build houses, have light, transport, among many other benefits to exist.
  • In the environment we find a great biological diversity of plants and animals that help maintain the ecological balance of the earth. This contributes directly to the sustainability of life on the planet. Each organism has a unique role to play.

Therefore, all societies must guarantee their care for their existence and make rational use of all their resources.

The inability of organisms to evolve anything that could be an advantage reflects _____.
sergey [27]

The inability of organisms to evolve anything that could be an advantage reflects "the limit of historical constraints".

<h3>What is the limit of historical constraints of evolution?</h3>

Although evolution is a powerful process that leads to

rapid changes in the characteristics of organisms, limits

to evolution arise from a lack of genetic variation, a

loss of well-adapted genotypes in populations due to

gene flow, trait interactions leading to trade-offs, and/

or the difficulty of evolving simultaneous changes in a

number of traits. This is the limit of historical constraints of evolution.

<h3>What are the factors that can cause an organism to evolve?</h3>

Four main factors lead to evolution:

(1) the potential for a species to diversify;

(2) heritable genetic variation among individuals within a species as a result of mutation and sexual reproduction;

(3) competition for scarce resources; and

(4) the spread of organisms that are better able to endure and procreate in the environment.

Which statement best explains why correct protein folding is critical in the transmembrane protein shown above?
amid [387]

The statement 'interactions of the hydrophobic and hydrophilic amino acids help to anchor the protein in the membrane' explains why protein folding is critical. This process is fundamental for the function of transmembrane proteins.

Protein folding refers to the process by which a polypeptide (i.e., a protein) adopts its final tridimensional 3D shape (conformation).

In a protein, some amino acids contain hydrophilic R groups, whereas other amino acids contain hydrophobic R groups.

During protein folding, hydrophobic amino acids are arranged so they can interact with the long chains of the fatty acids in the internal region of the lipid bilayer, whereas hydrophilic amino acids are arranged so they interact with water on the surface of the cell membrane.

Answer:

Cells make RNA messages in a process similar to the replication of DNA. The DNA strands are pulled apart in the location of the gene to be transcribed, and enzymes create the messenger RNA from the sequence of DNA bases using the base pairing rules
