The Great Depression happened primarily because the United States had a terrible economy and did a terrible job of rebuilding it. Americans responded to it by taking their money out of their bank accounts, and put it in their own stashes of cash in their own homes. Therefore, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt decided to propose the New Deal which started the first minimum wage of $0.25 per hour.

How did industrialization spur european imperialism in the nineteenth century?

Since the countries were becoming industrialized, they needed more and more resources. Since they couldn't have them in their own countries, they had to conquer others. That's why they would make colonies and spread their empires. That way they could take coal or oil or lumber or similar things from the colony and use it for their own purposes. Usually, they would leave nothing to the colony.
