This depends it is as far as keeping people happy witch is why its often used by students in schools on group assignments however like all methods it has its flaws such as since u have to vote it takes more time to do things say the king of someplace had his forces march on the us the president cant just declare war because he has other people he has to go through first

Why was the New England area split with their opinions on the future of slavery?
KatRina [158]

Answer: Politics in some parts of the colonies oscillated, and social movements that opposed slavery emerged.

Explanation:

It is essential to point out at the outset that the slave policy in the South and North was different. The south was entirely dependent on the slave labour, while in the north the slaves were in somewhat better conditions. However, when we talk about the north of More specifically New England, there were some oscillations in the colony. New England freed more and more slaves from year to year, primarily because of the fact that they were involved in the war. The colonial government in Rhode Island, which is an integral part of New England, sought to maintain a somewhat more rigid position on slaves, but all went towards freeing these people. Specific religious-social movements also emerged, which, by invoking moral principles, sought to eliminate slavery.

1. Which was not a cause of the Protestant reformation?
miss Akunina [59]

Answer #1, not a cause of Protestant Reformation:

  • Thirty Years' War

Answer #2, not a consequence of Protestant Reformation:

  • The Columbian Exchange

Explanation:

The Thirty Years' War was one of the Wars of Religion that followed as a consequence of the Protestant Reformation.  The Protestant Reformation is usually dated as beginning in 1517 with Martin Luther's posting of his 95 Theses concerning the sale of indulgences.  The Thirty Years' War was fought a century after that, from 1618-1648.

The Columbian Exchange is the name given to transfer of plants, animals, culture, people, ideas and more between Europe, the American continents, and West Africa, in the 15th and 16th centuries.  It is named after Christopher Columbus, who was credited with "discovering" the lands of the Western Hemisphere with his voyages beginning in 1492.  The Columbian Exchange happened around the same time as the Protestant Reformation and its aftermath were occurring in Europe, but the two were not related events.

What did the twenty-fourth amendment do? how did it help african americans?
Nostrana [21]
This was important to the African Americans because they had huge dilemmas associated with segregation and mostly discrimination. They weren't able to vote but the poll tax wasn't expensive at all which was enough to stop the poor - both white and black- from voting.

? What was Jay Gould of Union Pacific Railroad known for
svetoff [14.1K]

Answer:

The correct answer is C. buying up small railroad companies to drive up his business

Explanation:

According to history, Jay Gould between 1836-1892 of his lifetime was a railroad mogul in the United States predominantly in New York City. He was also a financier. Jay Gould's interest in the railroad industry grew beyond measures as he started with a move to invest in small railroads after much deliberation in 1859.  He was involved in so many railroad projects that led him into holding high positions in the industry and by 1867, he was made director of "Erie Railroad".

To grow his business and fully own the railroad industry, Jay Gould started some fraudulent dealings in his stocks and paying bribes to some bodies in government. He properly invested in "Union Pacific Railroad" stocks and soon gained maximum control.
