Similarly :

Same rule we applied : multiplied the numerator and denominator of the second term with ( x - 1 )

Therefore the second term becomes ,

                                       \frac{2x + 1}{x + 1} = \frac{(2x + 1)(x - 1)}{(x + 1)( x - 1)}
