Compare GBN, SR, and TCP (no delayed ACK). Assume that the timeout values for all three protocols are sufficiently long such tha

t 5 consecutive data segments and their corresponding ACKs can be received (if not lost in the channel) by the receiving host (Host B) and the sending host (Host A) respectively. Suppose Host A sends 5 data segments to Host B, and the 2nd segment (sent from A) is lost. In the end, all 5 data segments have been cor- rectly received by Host B.

Answer:

a. GoBackN:

A sends 9 segments in total. They are initially sent segments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and later re-sent segments 2, 3, 4, and 5. B sends 8 ACKs. They are 4 ACKS with sequence number 1, and 4 ACKS with sequence numbers 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Selective Repeat:

A sends 6 segments in total. They are initially sent segments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and later re-sent segments 2. B sends 5 ACKs. They are 4 ACKS with sequence number 1, 3, 4, 5. And there is one ACK with sequence number 2.

TCP:

A sends 6 segments in total. They are initially sent segments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and later re-sent segments 2. B sends 5 ACKs. They are 4 ACKS with sequence number 2. There is one ACK with sequence numbers 6. Note that TCP always send an ACK with expected sequence number.

TCP successfully delivers all five data segments in shortest time interval. This is because TCP uses fast retransmit without waiting until time out.

charle [14.2K]

Answer:

Answer to the following question is as follows;

Explanation:

Windows 7 for 100 users and Windows 8.1 for 25 users are the best options since they both enable networking and active directory, and Windows 8.1 also offers Windows server capabilities.

Winxp would therefore work for $100, but it is unsupported and has no updates.

If you wish to go with open source, you can choose Ubuntu 16 or 18 or Linux.

you turn on your desktop computer. You can hear the fans start up, but the monitor remains blank. You wait a while, but it doesn
brilliants [131]

Answer:

Processor , Video-card , Memory

Explanation:

If you turn on your desktop computer and the monitor remains blank, the problem might either be as a result of Processor not working, Video card bad and memory not sitting well.

if the problem is associated with processor, do the following:

 • Check if the power LED light on the motherboard is on or off.
 • If the LED light is off, check for motherboard or power supply issues.
 • If the LED light is on, check if the processor fan spins when the system is powered on.

Another major cause could be that the Video card is bad first thing to do is Update the drivers, then reseat the Videocard or probably change it.

Lastly memory module is loose, the computer might not display an image. In other words, your computer starts but the screen is black.

Now, you can try resetting the memory modules to fix the "PC turns on but no display" issue. Remove memory module from the memory slot, and then put it back into the slot to get a better connection so that the computer can recognise the memory.

During which phase of system development would you acquire any necessary hardware and software?
solmaris [256]

During the design phase of system development, you would acquire all the necessary hardware and software.

What is SDLC?

SDLC is an abbreviation for system development life cycle and it can be defined as a strategic methodology that defines the key steps, phases, or stages for the design, development and implementation of high quality systems.

In Computer technology, there are seven (7) phases involved in the development of a system and these include the following;

 • Planning
 • Analysis
 • Design
 • Development (coding)
 • Testing
 • Deployment
 • Maintenance

Also, phased implementation simply refers to an implementation methodology in which smaller portions of functionality of a system are typically implemented one at a time (one after the other).

In conclusion, we can infer and logically deduce that you would acquire all the necessary hardware and software during the design phase of system development.

Answer:

The given statement is False

TCP/IP (Transmission control protocol/ Internet protocol) model is in a way implementation of the OSI model. It tells about the end-to-end transmission of data being transmitted using OSI model.
