Many high schools have continued to hold separate proms for Black and White students, in violation of federal law. The schools get around this law by claiming one or both proms are unofficial meaning that the school management claims they are unaware of either one of the parties or both parties.
The major goal of such programs is to meliorate highway safety by providing evaluation, orientation, intervention, and treatment services for offenders in an effort to reduce their risk of committing the same later.
