OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

Saeko is generative.

Explanation:

According to Erikson's psychosocial stages, Saeko is in the Generative vs. Stagnation stage. It occurs around 40-65 years of age.

In this stage the individual tends to dedicate his/her time to his/her loved ones:

 • Generative refers to looking outside him/herself, getting ready to help the future generations by providing; getting the feeling of being able to help his/her family and feeling useful and needed.
 • Stagnation refers to the individual feeling useless, feeling like he/she cannot do much or provide anything else for the loved ones, therefore feeling stuck and stagnated.

In this case, Saeko wants to do something for the improvement of society by her connection and relationship with her family; she is being generative.

Aging in place means living an independent life without causing any stress to ones own self. Activity theory best explains how healthiest aging can be achieved.

Explanation:

successful aging can be accomplished when elders constant keep themselves active. They have to remain socially active in order to attain an healthy aging. The activity theory and the disengagement theory were the two major theories that outlined successful aging. Activity theory is advantageous as it makes the adult to remain active, satisfied and happy through social interactions. They can also resist themselves from stress and reclusion when they are active and enthusiastic.

Disengagement theory advocates that the elders have to stay away from a larger society and they have to be at peace within a confined limits. Modernization, has made people to come closer and though this theory had advantages, activity theory is much preferred.
